Salt Spring Island
Replacing a hacked, decade-old WordPress site with a nine-page home for a Salt Spring spa: booking, shop, retreats, and a journal the owner runs herself.
A site that runs part of the business, not just describes it: bookings that land in your real calendar, a shop with secure checkout, a journal you publish yourself, and the tools you already use, wired in.
[From $3,500]
What it does
When a customer can book a time or buy something on your site, the emails and calls about availability and payment shrink, and the booking or the sale lands where you already work.
I connect what you already run rather than replacing it: Square, Jane App and Mailchimp are the usual ones. Figs & Honey's treatments book straight into one Square calendar, so a double booking can't happen, and its shop sells through Square checkout. If you run more than one business, the sites can be built together, the way Figs & Honey and Bayview Cottages were for the same owner.
Each one is run by its owner.

From your first message to a site you run yourself, in one to three weeks. The price comes with your free preview, and it's fixed before the build starts.
A short message through the contact form: who you are, what you do, and what you have now. Nothing to prepare.
I build the top of your new homepage, one screen at laptop and phone sizes, from what's already public about your business. It comes with the price. No meeting needed, and nothing to prepare.
If you like the preview, you get a short proposal with the scope, the timeline and a fixed price, and a 25% deposit books the build. If you don't like the preview, you pay nothing and that's it.
I finish the build with your feedback along the way, launch with you, and hand off a recorded walkthrough plus a month of free edits.
One price, fixed before I start, on the same terms your proposal would carry.
Every review on Google is five stars. Here are eleven of them, word for word, beside the site each client got.
Owen was brilliant. He held my hand and was incredibly patient and helpful.
I can trust him completely as he's shown to be a super chap and super smart. Highly recommend. He built two wonderful websites for me with a shop on and booking system too. Thanks Owen.

Square, Jane App and Mailchimp most often, and whatever you already use if it can connect to a website. If you don't have one yet, I'll suggest one that fits how you take bookings.
Your payment provider, such as Square, takes the payment on its own secure checkout and pays you, on its own terms and fees. Card details never pass through your website.
Yes. Products, prices, photos and journal posts are all yours to change from the dashboard, without touching code.
Longer than a business website, because there is more to connect and test. The timeline comes with the quote, before anything starts.
Yes, for sites I build. A very photo-heavy site, like a large shop, can need a $10 a month image plan for the dashboard, and if yours would, you'll know before the build starts.
Every price and term is on one page too.
I'll build a free preview of the top of your new homepage from what's already public, usually within a week, and send it with the price. Nothing to prepare, and no obligation to go ahead.
